Happy New Year!

Don't you just love the New Year?! There's something about fresh starts that make my heart sing. The first day of the month... the first day of new seasons... New moons :)

This year I'm determined. It's an action year. Not all are, last year was a quiet year, a season of my life that I needed to stop. I stepped down from MOPS, withdrew from many social events, it was just what I, and our family, needed.
But this year, I am excited, driven, looking forward to many new adventures.

The #wordoftheyear this year is BUILD.
Last year was Abide, 2013 was Pray (note to self. Asking to learn to pray is equivalent to asking to get patience)
Psalm 127
1 Unless the LORD builds the house, those who build it labor in vain. Unless the LORD watches over the city, the watchman stays awake in vain.
2 It is in vain that you rise up early and go late to rest, eating the bread of anxious toil; for he gives to his beloved sleep.
3 Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD, the fruit of the womb a reward.
4 Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the children of one's youth.
5 Blessed is the man who fills his quiver with them! He shall not be put to shame when he speaks with his enemies in the gate.

Known as "The Builder's Psalm" this will be our families focus passage this year. A little ironic as Jon has just started his handyman business, but it's what the Lord brought to my heart.

So it is here that I will share our new adventures.  Business start ups, wild adventures with the kids, quiet moments and lessons along the way. We are truly, richly, deeply blessed and along the way we find blessings in serendipity - I can't wait to share them with you!!

How about you? Share with me! What's your word of the year? What new goals have you set?
